Qualifications

• Ordained and endorsed minister or trained layperson in pastoral care.
• 1+ years of experience in health care or end-of-life care.
• Familiar with basic computer use, HR systems, email, internet.
• Comfort working in an interfaith setting.
• Graduate of accredited seminary or theology school.

Responsibilities

• Represent a spiritual presence and connection with the hospice movement.
• Provide spiritual resources and counseling to patients and families.
• Document spiritual needs in intake/assessment and chart notes.
• Engage with patients’ clergy or congregations when requested.
• Support funeral planning and provide liturgical services if needed.
• Present at time of death if requested.
• Provide literature and spiritual resources to patients and families.
• Participate in care planning and assist the team.
