Job summary

Your Health in Charleston area seeks a Chaplain to serve palliative/hospice patients in homes and assisted living facilities, providing spiritual and emotional support, compassionate presence, and meaning-making across diverse faith backgrounds.

This is a salary-based, full-time 8-hour position (8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday). The chaplain collaborates with the hospice team, conducts bereavement support, and engages in outreach to clergy and communities to promote spiritual care services.

Qualifications

• MDiv or equivalent theological degree from an accredited institution.
• Ordination or endorsement from a religious organization.
• CPE certification preferred.
• Experience in providing spiritual care in healthcare settings, preferably hospice or palliative care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct spiritual assessments to understand beliefs, values, and needs.
• Collaborate with hospice team to address spiritual needs alongside other care.
• Develop relationships with local clergy and faith communities for outreach.
• Provide bereavement support and assist with memorial services when needed.
