Job summary

Medi Home Hospice, a proud member of the Medical Services of America family, seeks a compassionate Hospice Chaplain to serve patients and families across Morganton, NC. You will provide direct spiritual and emotional support in homes and work with staff to ensure holistic care.

Responsibilities include joining IDT meetings, offering grief support, coordinating with local clergy, and maintaining a network of faith representatives. After-hours availability is included to support patient needs.

Qualifications

• CPE unit completed (required).
• Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology or certified in hospital/pastoral ministry (preferred).
• Experience as a hospital or hospice chaplain (preferred).
• Ecumenical approach to spiritual care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct spiritual care to patients and families in their homes.
• Participate in IDT meetings to assess and report on spiritual needs.
• Offer grief support and bereavement follow-up as outlined in procedures.
• Coordinate with local clergy and faith leaders based on patient/family preferences.
• Build and maintain a network of clergy or faith representatives to support care needs.
• Ensure after-hours chaplain availability (minimal requirement).
• Attend biweekly IDT meetings and contribute to care planning.
