Job summary

Compassus is seeking a Chaplain/Bereavement Coordinator to provide spiritual support to patients and families within a hospice setting. The role integrates with the IDT to develop care plans, coordinates bereavement services, and ensures respectful, compassionate care according to Compassus values.

Responsibilities include counseling, coordinating with community clergy, and delivering grief support for at least one year post-death. Requires hospice experience and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Divinity, Social Sciences, or other related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in spiritual/pastoral support.
• Minimum of two years of experience in bereavement support.
• CPE completion preferred where required by state regulation.

Responsibilities

• Articulates regulatory framework governing Spiritual Counselor role.
• Provides spiritual care to patients and family; coordinates with IDT.
• Develops and implements bereavement plan of care after death.
• Delivers grief support groups and bereavement education to IDT and community.
