Job Overview

Serenity Hospice provides caring and compassionate hospice care services to patients and families throughout New Jersey. Our mission is to alleviate pain and symptoms; foster a state of calmness and harmony; and encourage an appreciation of family, friends, and life experiences.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Chaplain to join our team in Cape May/Atlantic County. The Chaplain will assess the spiritual and religious needs of patients and their families, arrange for spiritual and religious support, and support families in the bereavement process.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with patients' spiritual needs, including coordination of services.
  • Provide spiritual counseling and emotional support to patients and families.
  • Participate in the development of the care plan.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Communicate effectively with families and patients.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Serenity Hospice’s philosophy, values, and mission.
  • Handle emails, voicemails, and patient database charting.
Requirements
  • Must have completed at least one Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) unit.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervised experience in a medical, educational, or religious setting preferred.
  • Ability to provide inter-faith spiritual care, demonstrating cultural and theological competence.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
