Responsibilities as a Hospice Aide / CNA
- Report to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager, working under the supervision of the RN and/or Clinical Supervisor
- Assist patients with personal hygiene and maintaining a safe environment
- Prepare and serve light meals, assist with feeding and ambulation
- Support the safe use of mobility aids
- Perform light housekeeping tasks
- Assist with treatments as ordered and permitted by state regulations
- Encourage mental alertness through engaging activities
- Provide emotional support and report any changes in patient condition
- Demonstrate basic care techniques to caregivers
- Follow infection control protocols and document visits accurately
- Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement activities
Candidate Requirements
- Compassionate, kind, and empathetic nature
- Comfort with providing care in patients' homes
- Flexibility and composure in crisis support
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
- Six months of relevant patient care experience preferred
- Additional experience in hospital or emergency settings advantageous
- Valid driver’s license and insurance
- CPR certification
