Responsibilities of a Hospice Aide/CNA
  • Report to the Administrator, Executive Director or Patient Care Manager Senior, and work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor.
  • Help the patient maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Prepare and serve light meals; assist in feeding when needed.
  • Assist the patient in ambulation and with the safe use of mobility aids.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks.
  • Assist with treatments as ordered and allowed by state regulations.
  • Promote patient mental alertness through engagement in activities.
  • Provide emotional and psychological support.
  • Report changes in patient condition or home situation.
  • Demonstrate basic care to caregivers.
  • Follow infection control measures and document visits accurately.
  • Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement activities.
  • Complete timely documentation as per orientation guidelines.
Candidate Requirements
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and kind.
  • Comfortable providing care in a patient's home.
  • Flexible and composed under pressure.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
  • Six months of relevant patient care experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Current CPR certification.
