Responsibilities of a Hospice Aide/CNA include:

• Reporting to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager Senior, and functioning under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor.
• Helping patients maintain good personal hygiene.
• Assisting in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
• Preparing and serving light meals.
• Assisting in feeding patients when needed.
• Assisting patients with ambulation and the safe use of mobility aids.
• Performing light housekeeping tasks such as trash removal and linen changes.
• Assisting with treatments as ordered and within state regulations.
• Promoting mental alertness through engaging activities.
• Providing emotional and psychological support.
• Reporting changes in patient condition or home situation.
• Demonstrating basic care techniques to primary caregivers.
• Practicing infection control and standard precautions.
• Accurately documenting visits and participating in staff meetings.
• Participating in quality improvement activities and completing documentation timely.

Qualifications:

• Compassionate, kind, and empathetic nature.
• Comfortable providing care in a patient's home.
• Flexibility and composure in crisis situations.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
• Six months of patient care experience preferred.
• Additional experience in hospital or emergency settings is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and insurance.
• Current CPR certification.
