Job summary

VNA Hospice NWI is seeking compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our 6-bed inpatient hospice care center in Valparaiso, Indiana. We offer full-time and part-time roles with day, evening, and midnight shifts, focused on end-of-life care with dignity and comfort.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to provide symptom management, patient-centered care, and education to families in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana RN license required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Experience in hospice, palliative care, oncology, or critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care per hospice standards.
• Monitor and manage pain and symptoms to ensure comfort.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Respond to changes in patient condition promptly.

Position Summary

The Inpatient Hospice RN provides skilled nursing care to hospice patients requiring symptom management and end‑of‑life care within our inpatient facility. The RN works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients receive compassionate, individualized care that promotes comfort and quality of life.

Responsibilities

Requirements

Qualifications

• Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Previous hospice, palliative care, oncology, long‑term care, ICU, ER, or acute care experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Compassionate, patient‑centered approach to care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
