VNA Hospice NWI in Valparaiso, IN is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 6-bed inpatient hospice care center. The RN provides skilled nursing care focused on comfort, symptom management, and compassionate end-of-life support for patients and families.

We offer full-time and part-time opportunities with flexible day, evening, and midnight shifts. A licensed Indiana RN with hospice or acute care experience is preferred, along with strong communication and clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana RN license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Previous hospice, palliative care, oncology, long-term care, ICU, ER, or acute care experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to hospice standards.
• Monitor and manage pain and symptoms to ensure patient comfort.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, chaplains, nursing assistants, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Respond effectively to changes in patient condition.
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for patients and families.

Position Summary

The Inpatient Hospice RN provides skilled nursing care to hospice patients requiring symptom management and end-of-life care within our inpatient facility.
