Job summary

Phoenix Home Care & Hospice in Joplin, MO is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in daily clinical operations and guide a dedicated nursing team in delivering high-quality, compliant patient care.

This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday day schedule, with opportunities to influence clinical quality initiatives and patient outcomes across the hospice program.

Qualifications

• Active Missouri RN license required.
• 2+ years experience in hospice.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional, compassionate, and solution-oriented mindset.”

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing in daily clinical operations
• Supervise, coach, and develop nursing staff
• Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company regulations
• Assist with patient care oversight and clinical quality initiatives
• Review and support care plans to ensure appropriate service delivery
• Conduct staff education, training, and performance evaluations
• Assist with problem solving, escalations, and clinical decision making
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and retention of nursing staff
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes
