Phoenix Home Care & Hospice in Topeka, KS, is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing clinical operations and guiding nursing staff. This full-time role suits an experienced nurse ready to move into leadership.

You will ensure high-quality, compliant, compassionate care, drive clinical quality initiatives, and contribute to day-to-day operations and long-term department growth.

Qualifications

• Active Kansas RN license required.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• At least 2 years experience in hospice.
• Strong knowledge of clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional, compassionate, and solution-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing in daily clinical operations.
• Supervise, coach, and develop nursing staff.
• Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company regulations.
• Assist with patient care oversight and clinical quality initiatives.
• Review and support care plans to ensure appropriate service delivery.
• Conduct staff education, training, and performance evaluations.
• Assist with problem solving, escalations, and clinical decision making.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and retention of nursing staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes.
