Job summary

JourneyCare Hospice is seeking a Hospice Admission RN in Barrington, IL. New competitive salaries, with up to $95,000 annually based on experience. Hours are Monday–Friday 4:00 PM–12:30 AM with no weekend or on-call shifts.

The role includes performing pre-admission evaluations, initiating admissions by educating patients and families, obtaining informed consent, and delivering initial assessment and care plans to enhance comfort and quality of life for patients and families in hospice care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program.
• Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of practice.
• Must possess current CPR Certification.
• 1 year of Hospice experience preferred.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, family members, visitors, agency personnel, and the general public.
• Must be knowledgeable of quality assessment and assurance procedures.

• Initiates the admission process by educating and informing patients/families of its services.
• Obtains informed consent.
