Job summary

The University of Idaho in Cassia County, Idaho, seeks a tenure-track Extension Educator as an Assistant Professor. 90% of the appointment focuses on Extension programming—horticulture and small acreages—with 10% on 4-H youth development.

The educator will conduct 5% scholarly activity and 5% university service and leadership, collaborating with county partners to ensure locally relevant programs aligned with the annual plan of work.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Sciences, Crop Sciences, Agronomy, Education, or closely related to the domain of the position
• Experience providing organizational structure and support for a variety of individuals and groups
• Experience recruiting, teaching, organizing, and managing groups
• Experience using technology for program delivery, reporting, and team-based communications

Responsibilities

• Lead horticulture and small acreages Extension programming (90% effort)
• Engage with county commissioners and partners to tailor programs to local needs
• Support 4-H youth development (10% effort)
• Contribute to applied research and scholarly activities (5%)
• Participate in university service and leadership activities (5%)
