Job summary

The New York Racing Association is seeking a Receiving & Assembly Barn Coordinator in New York. This Regular Full Time role handles the receiving of horses, verifies licensing, assigns temporary stalls, and coordinates movement to and from the receiving barn before and after races.

Responsibilities include coordinating examinations, administering Lasix, and coordinating with trainers, racing officials, and veterinarians. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years experience in the horse racing industry, preferably the backstretch area.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Knowledge of racing logistics and NYRA track layouts.
• Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate examinations and Lasix administration with trainers, officials, and veterinarians.
• Coordinate movement of horses within the barn area to and from races.
• Handle complaints and requests from horse trainers and owners.
• Notify Barn Area Supervisor and officials of suspicious or unproductive activity.
• Assist in securing stall numbers and managing barn/stall reports.
