Job summary

ChampionX, now part of SLB, seeks a Horizontal Surface Pump Technician in Hobbs, NM. You will perform maintenance, service, commissioning, and decommissioning of pump systems, while ensuring safety and quality during customer site visits.

You will troubleshoot equipment, document findings, and support continuous improvement of pump performance. This role demands strong technical skill, reliability, and teamwork in a field setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of experience installing, troubleshooting and servicing Horizontal Surface Pump Systems
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence and clean driving record
• Analytical and problem-solving ability
• Intermediate oral and written communication skills
• Organizational and time management skills
• Basic math skills
• Ability to follow prescribed company policies, procedures, and safety protocols
• Interact politely and professionally with customers and coworkers
• Ability to lead and influence a team
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers
• Ability to plan and organize
• Read, write, and speak English fluently
• Computer usage for communication, data access

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties with a Safety First approach.
• Maintain, service, commission, and decommission horizontal pump systems components.
• Conduct routine checks and troubleshoot customer equipment at their locations.
• Own customer equipment operational excellence to improve run time and MTBF.
• Research ways to improve pump systems and service.
• Complete required paperwork timely and with detail.
• Complete internal safety training and observations on time.
