Job summary

ChampionX is hiring a Horizontal Surface Pump (HSP) Technician in Hobbs, NM. You will support customers by performing maintenance, commissioning, and decommissioning of pump systems, including motors, seals, and thrust chambers.

Route includes Hobbs region with 40-hour weeks and potential overtime to meet business needs. Minimum 2 years’ experience with HSP systems, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience installing, troubleshooting and servicing Horizontal Surface Pump Systems.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, service, commissioning, and decommissioning of horizontal pump systems components (motors, thrust chambers, seals, pumps).
  • Conduct routine checks and troubleshoot customer equipment at their locations.
  • Improve equipment runtime and mean time to failure through proactive maintenance.
  • Complete all required paperwork timely and with detail.
  • Complete safety training and observations on time.

We are looking for a Horizontal Surface Pump Technician located in Hobbs, NM. The Horizontal Surface Pump (HSP) Technician will support our extensive customer base by providing excellent service and support to their Horizontal Surface Pump Systems used on Salt Water Disposals, and Jet Lifted wells. What You Will Do:
  • Perform all job duties with a Safety First approach.
  • Maintenance, service, commissioning, and decommissioning of all horizontal pump systems components such as Motors, Horizontal Thrust Chambers, Mechanical Seals, Horizontal Pumps.
  • Conduct routine checks and troubleshooting of customer's equipment at their locations.
  • Take ownership of customer's equipment operational excellence to improve run time and mean time to failure.
  • Continually research ways to improve the pump systems and service.
  • Complete all required paperwork timely and with complete detail.
  • Complete all internal safety training and observations on time.
Position Details:

Route territory will include: Hobbs, NM region of Permian Basin. Workweek and shift: 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week, excess hours, as required, to meet business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience installing, troubleshooting and servicing Horizontal Surface Pump Systems
  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence, and acceptable driving record
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability

Physical Demands:

Substantial movement (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers to use a computer.
