Job summary

South Bay Solutions in California seeks a dependable Horizontal CNC Operator to join our precision shop. You will operate horizontal machining centers, read blueprints, load materials, and perform in-process inspections to ensure part quality.

The ideal candidate works independently, follows instructions, and maintains a clean, safe workspace while meeting production schedules. High school diploma or GED and CNC experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Perform tool changes and basic offsets on CNCs.
  • Maintain high attention to detail to meet tolerances and quality specs.
  • Follow instructions and work independently to complete tasks on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Operate horizontal CNC machining centers safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Load and unload raw materials and partially finished parts.
  • Verify part numbers, materials, tooling, and job requirements before production.
  • Maintain or exceed established production standards while meeting quality requirements.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and other requirements specified on blueprints.
  • Change cutting tools and make basic tool, offset, and machine adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor machine operation and identify potential quality or equipment issues.
  • Verify proper tooling and tool usage throughout production.
  • Complete in-process sheets and other required production documentation accurately.
  • Maintain organized materials, tooling, hardware, and work areas.
  • Keep the machine and surrounding area clean and free of hazards.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other shifts to ensure continuity of production.
  • Report machine, tooling, material, or quality issues promptly.

Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Horizontal CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate can work independently, follow blueprints and work instructions, and consistently produce high-quality parts that meet customer specifications.

The Horizontal CNC Operator will be responsible for operating horizontal machining centers, loading and unloading materials, performing inspections, making basic tooling and machine adjustments, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

Openings : 2

Schedule : Day(6am to 2:35pm) & Swing(2:30pm to 11:05pm)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate horizontal CNC machining centers safely and efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous experience operating horizontal CNC machining centers preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Ability to change tools and make basic offsets and machine adjustments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic math and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with horizontal machining centers strongly preferred.
  • Blueprint reading and inspection experience preferred.
