Job summary

South Bay Solutions is seeking a seasoned CNC Lathe operator to set up and run lathes, ensuring parts meet print requirements. The role demands strong lathe experience, GD&T interpretation, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have 5–7 years of lathe setup experience, be able to read prints, and work with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• CNC programming knowledge including G/M codes.

Responsibilities

• Produce operator-friendly, quality set-ups meeting print requirements.
• Work efficiently to complete set-ups within allotted time.
• Review and recommend changes to production tooling.
• Assist others in resolving issues when needed.
• Report equipment deficiencies to Manager.
• Support operators in maintenance and repair tasks.
• Maintain a safe, efficient and clean work environment.

Summary

This position requires candidate to produce machined parts per print by setting up and operating a CNC Lathe machine, maintaining quality, safety standards and record keeping. This position requires strong CNC experience involving setting up and operating lathes. Must be able to work in a fast-paced & challenging environment.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5-7 years of Lathe setup experience.
• Work with minimal supervision to resolve issues.
• Must be able to setup from program notes & shop traveler.
• Must be able to read & interpret prints, including GD&T.
• Firm understanding of CNC programming, including G/M codes & editing.
• Inspect own parts with attention to detail.
• Proficient with inspection tools & methods.
• Communicate effectively within the team, different shifts, & management.

Responsibilities

Education / Experience

• High School diploma or GED required. Accredited Trade School and or Associate degree preferred.
• At least 5 - 7 years of experience

Shift:

• Swing: 2:30pm - 11:05pm
