Job summary

Hire Sync is seeking an experienced Horizontal Boring Mill Operator for a direct-hire role in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. This position is for 2nd shift, rotating between 4:30 PM and 3:00 AM, with a pay rate of $28–$31 per hour plus a $1.00/hour shift differential after training.

You will set up and run CNC Horizontal Boring Mills on large-scale parts, reading blueprints and GD&T. Candidates must have at least 5 years of CNC milling experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC horizontal boring mill experience.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Read blueprints and GD&T.
• Machining calculations including geometry and trig.
• Experience with large components and heavy materials.
• Able to stand and lift up to 50 lbs and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and GD&T; verify dimensions with precision tools.
• Edit CNC programs and manage tooling, fixtures, and attachments.
• Use cranes/hoists to position materials and perform quality inspections.

We're looking for a skilled machinist who takes pride in their work, understands the demands of large-part machining, and can confidently set up and operate CNC Horizontal Boring Mills.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Boring Mills to perform drilling, tapping, boring, and milling operations.
• Machine large-scale components and heavy materials to precise specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements.
• Perform CNC program edits and work with multiple CNC controls.
• Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and attachments.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and maintain tight tolerances.
• Calculate machining dimensions, speeds, feeds, and tooling requirements.
• Load and position materials using overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
• Complete quality inspections, production documentation, and maintenance records.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment while meeting production and quality expectations.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of CNC Horizontal Boring Mill experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong setup and machining skills with the ability to work independently.
• Experience reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T.
• Understanding of machining calculations, including geometry and trigonometry.
• Experience machining large components and heavy materials strongly preferred.
• Ability to work with precision measuring tools and maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Reliable work history with a demonstrated commitment to previous employers.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts is a plus, but training is available.
