Job summary

Biomerics in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Band Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will perform hands-on material cutting and preparation on the shop floor and maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system for traceability.

The role supports warehouse and production activities, ensuring materials are available when needed while upholding safety and quality standards. Prior machine shop experience and ERP familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years in inventory and manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a machine shop preferred.
• Ability to operate saw machines and cut raw materials.
• Skilled with measuring tools (calipers, tape measure).
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Cut and prepare raw materials to required specifications using a Horizonal Band Saw.
• Verify incoming materials against purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate inventory in the ERP system.
• Store and organize materials with proper labeling and tracking methods.
• Ensure lot traceability of materials throughout production.
• Prepare travelers and production documentation.
• Pick and release materials to the shop floor.
• Perform basic material inspections and handle nonconforming items.
• Operate a forklift to unload and move materials.
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve material or inventory issues.
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.

Job Summary

A key part of the job is hands-on work on the shop floor, cutting and preparing raw materials (such as bar stock) using a saw machine to meet production requirements in a fast-paced environment. The Band Saw Operator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory, including tracking materials in the ERP system, performing cycle counts, and ensuring proper storage and traceability. This role also supports daily warehouse and production operations to ensure materials are available when needed.

Requirements

• Experience working in a machine shop preferred
• Ability to operate saw machines and cut raw materials
• Skilled in using measuring tools (calipers, tape measure)
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Forklift experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
