Job Description

Title: Academic Skills Center Tutor - Certified

Academic Skills Center Tutors support students in content areas and develop executive functioning skills. They provide tutoring during the school day and collaborate with colleagues and educators to support student learning within the district.

Essential Functions:

1. Provide tutoring support to small groups in the Academic Skills Center.
2. Collaborate with the Lead Tutor, staff, volunteers, and administrators to identify resources and strategies.
3. Assist students in setting and monitoring individual goals.
4. Guide students through learning activities and resources.
5. Monitor student behavior to ensure a safe learning environment.
6. Model appropriate social and interpersonal behaviors.
7. Maintain accurate records of student progress.
8. Communicate with educators and families about student progress.
9. Participate in professional development sessions.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Certified Tutor: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
• Valid Professional Standards Commission-approved certificate in the relevant educational field at level T-4 or above.
• Minimum three years of experience working with children.
