Job summary

Hawaiian Electric Company seeks a Manager, Safety to lead programs within the Safety & Health Manual and oversee the Electrical Service Restoration Plan on Oahu. The role directs the department’s safety initiatives, coordinates with the Incident Management Team, and ensures robustness of training and drills for company-wide emergency readiness.

Qualifications

• Operations experience in transmission and distribution, generation or emergency response.
• First responder experience preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical utility emergency response.
• Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws, regulations and procedures related to department activities.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office; SharePoint, SAP and project management tools desirable.
• LEAN continuous improvement principles knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Directs development and management of Safety & Health programs and oversees the Electrical Service Restoration Plan.
• Oversees maintenance of SharePoint and SAP applications and supports the Director, Safety & EPP.
• Manages daily operations of the Safety & Emergency Planning and Preparedness team including scope, schedule, budgeting, and program development.
• Develops training exercises, tabletop activities, and drills; deploys with Mutual Assistance or in other roles as needed.
• Participates in emergency response activities and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
