Job summary

Mental Health Kokua in Honolulu, HI seeks a Behavioral Health Program Manager to lead a Kauhale community serving adults with serious mental illness. You will manage daily operations, coordinate services, and supervise staff to deliver recovery-oriented care in a safe, well-run environment.

Ideal candidates hold an LSW, with 3+ years in behavioral health and strong leadership, collaboration, and documentation skills. Eligible staff may receive supervision hours toward LCSW licensure.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Social Worker (LSW) credential.
• Preferred: MSW or bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
• Three (3) or more years of experience in behavioral health, community-based services, case management, or program operations
• Leadership, staff supervision, communication, organization, problem-solving, crisis response, and relationship-building skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; HMIS/NextStep or similar systems preferred
• TB clearance, CPR, and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Kauhale operations, including occupancy, resident orientation, program fees, unit assignments, inspections, vacancies, and service coordination
• Supervise, coach, and support Kauhale staff while coordinating daily workflows and promoting accountability
• Help ensure residents are connected with behavioral health, case management, benefits, and community-based services that support recovery
• Maintain a safe environment, provide leadership during emergencies, and ensure incident reporting
• Promote person-centered, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practices throughout the Kauhale community
• Collaborate withPartners in Care, HMIS, CES, MHK teams, service providers, and community agencies to coordinate services
• Maintain accurate program records and support documentation, reporting, quality, and program compliance
• Monitor maintenance, repairs, supplies, vendor needs, and facility conditions to keep the community safe and clean
• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, local businesses, government partners, and stakeholders
