Job summary

RNInk is seeking an experienced Honing Technician / Precision ID Machinist to join our manufacturing team. You will set up and operate manual honing equipment to produce precision components that meet exact tolerances and finish specs.

You will read blueprints, choose appropriate tooling, measure parts with micrometers and dial gauges, and work with engineering and quality teams to ensure first-pass quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of honing or precision machining experience.
• Experience with extremely tight tolerances.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining practices, shop mathematics, and metal properties.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual honing machines
• Produce components to extremely tight tolerances (up to 0.0001–0.0002")
• Hone aluminum, steel, titanium, plastics, and specialty alloys
• Select proper honing stones, abrasives, tooling, and fixtures
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
• Verify quality, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet production goals
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
