Job summary

Sora Resource Group seeks an experienced Honing Technician / Precision ID Machinist to join our precision manufacturing client in the United States. You will set up and operate manual honing equipment, producing components to exact dimensions with superior surface finishes to meet demanding specifications.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year honing or precision machining experience, strong blueprint-reading skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1+ year honing or precision machining experience.
• Experience with extremely tight tolerances.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual honing machines
• Produce components to extremely tight tolerances (up to 0.0001–0.0002").
• Hone aluminum, steel, titanium, plastics, and specialty alloys
• Select proper honing stones, abrasives, tooling, and fixtures
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
• Verify quality, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet production goals
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

We are searching for an experienced Honing Technician / Precision ID Machinist to join one of our valued manufacturing clients. Our client is an established precision machining company with more than 50 years of experience serving the aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, marine, commercial, manufacturing, and oil & gas industries. They are recognized for producing high-quality precision components that consistently exceed customer expectations.

Compensation

Starting at $32.00+/hr (based on experience)

Position Summary

The Honing Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating manual honing equipment to manufacture precision components that meet exact dimensional tolerances and superior surface finish requirements. This position requires strong machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
