Job summary

The nZone in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Homeschool Enrichment Teacher to lead engaging, hands-on classes for students aged 5-14. This in-person, part-time role offers total schedule flexibility with input on elective topics and a custom teaching lineup created with the Education Director.

You'll teach 50-minute sessions once per week or more, with small class sizes and classroom support, while modeling ministry values and ensuring a safe, inspiring learning environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in teaching, academic enrichment, homeschool or childcare (2+ years preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate or Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred).
• Ability to pass a background check and lift up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Teach 50-minute weekly sessions in core subjects or electives with input from Education Director.
• Deliver hands-on, project-based learning with a dedicated Assistant Teacher in the room.
• Create a safe, organized, and encouraging environment supporting academic, social, and emotional growth.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 / hour | Job Type: Part-Time (Ultra-Flexible)

About the Role

Are you a passionate educator looking for total schedule flexibility and the freedom to teach what you love? nSpire Homeschool Enrichment at The nZone-a non-profit ministry of New Life Christian Church-is seeking engaging Homeschool Enrichment Teachers to lead hands-on, interactive classes for students ages 5-14.

In this role, you have a real voice in what you teach. While we offer core subject tracks, you'll have input on class topics and freedom to pitch and design your own elective courses based on your unique talents and passions. Whether you want to teach 1 class a week or build a fuller schedule, you'll work directly with our Education Director to build a schedule that fits your life.

• Guaranteed Classroom Support: Enjoy small class sizes (~10 students) with a dedicated Assistant Teacher in the room to help manage activities and keep energy high.
• Structured 10-Week Sessions: Our program runs in 10-week sessions from September to June across clear age tracks (Ages 5-6, 7-9, and 10-14).

What You'll Do

• Teach & Design Engaging Classes: Lead 50-minute weekly sessions in core subjects or original electives, collaborating with the Education Director to shape inspiring, age-appropriate courses.
• Deliver Hands-On Learning: Guide small groups (~10 students) through interactive, project-based activities alongside your Assistant Teacher.
• Cultivate a Positive Environment: Maintain a safe, organized, and encouraging space where students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
• Embrace Ministry Values: Model positive character and Christian values consistent with our church ministry mission.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 1+ years in teaching, academic enrichment, homeschool or childcare (2+ years preferred).
• Education & Credentials: High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate or Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred).
• Core Skills: Passion for creative course design, ability to connect with dynamic age groups, ability to lift up to 20 lbs, and ability to pass a background check.
