Job summary

Nexplore is seeking a part-time instructor to deliver hands-on STEM and digital tech lessons to students in preK-12 across after-school and school programs. You will be provided with training, curriculum, and materials, and you will report to a Program Success Manager.

The role emphasizes consistency, competence, communication, creativity, and community engagement, with a schedule on Tuesdays and class times as specified. A AA degree and teaching experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• AA degree or higher required or preferred.
• 2+ years teaching/instructing experience (preferred).
• Experience working with children.
• Educational or training experience preferred.
• Teaching degree or certificate is a plus.
• Must commit to the full proposed schedule.
• Great communication and presentation skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• Willing to complete mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality in-person instruction in STEM/Digital Tech/Art/Life Skills/Fitness.
• Prepare for instruction using provided training, lesson plans, and materials.
• Teach students in grades PreK-12 and report to Program Success Manager.
• Follow schedule, arrive on time, and review plans prior to instruction.
• Engage families and participate in program activities.

Nexplore Instructor Role:

The Nexplore Instructor is responsible for consistently delivering high-quality, in-person STEM, Digital Tech, Art, Life Skills and/or Fitness' instruction to foster the joy of learning. Supplied with training, lesson plans, curriculum, and materials, the Nexplore Instructor is responsible for preparing for instruction and teaching students in grades PreK-12 (varies based on assignment). They will report to a Program Success Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

• Consistency - Follow a provided schedule, arrive on time and prepared to teach (must review lesson plans and materials prior to instruction), and maintain compliance with site expectations.
• Competence - Deliver meaningful, standard-aligned instruction that cultivates critical thinking, problem solving, and joy in the learning process. Manage all supplied instructional materials.
• Communication - Engage in professional, responsive, effective communication with Nexplore Program Success Manager and site personnel.
• Creativity - Deliver inspiring instruction from Nexplore’s collection of 80+ programs, administering accommodations and extensions, as relevant.
• Community - Participate in family engagement efforts (welcome letters, showcases, etc.) and empower each and every child to meaningfully access and engage in Nexplore programs.
