Job summary

The Shores, a UMC senior living community in Ocean City, NJ, is seeking a per diem Homemaker to assist with dining service and light housekeeping for residents. Choose from 6a–2p, 11a–7p, or 4p–7p shifts; pay is $17.24/hour based on experience.

You’ll prepare and serve meals, assist residents with dining, help with laundry and housekeeping, and ensure safety and cleanliness in the dining areas and living spaces.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain ServSafe certification after hire.
• Willingness to complete Dining Assistant Training after hire.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• 1+ year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks, following menus, recipes, dietary needs, and food safety rules.
• Accommodate special diets and food substitutions for residents' nutritional and personal preferences.
• Ask residents for input on food choices, menus, and how meals are presented.
• Assist residents with eating and dining support, following your training and care guidelines.
• Follow sanitation, food handling, and temperature monitoring procedures.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized, and report any equipment issues.
• Manage grocery inventory and handle housekeeping and laundry duties, including resident rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
