Job summary

The City of San José Housing Department is seeking a full-time Analyst in the Homelessness Response Division to support shelter throughput and matchmaking with accurate data entry in HMIS. The role emphasizes coordination with service providers and community partners to ensure effective placement and timely data reporting.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and strong organizational, analytical, and customer-service skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of scheduling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with HMIS and shelter coordination.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage high-volume scheduling and data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the City’s shelter and interim housing matchmaking and throughput processes.
• Manage move-in schedules and related logistics with providers and participants.
• Maintain frequent communication with service providers, outreach teams, and partners to resolve scheduling/placement issues.
• Provide high-level customer service to internal and external partners while managing referrals and scheduling requests.
• Utilize HMIS to review participant information, monitor activity, support matchmaking, and ensure data accuracy.
• Run and analyze HMIS reports and other program reports to monitor shelter utilization and throughput.
• Assist with data quality reviews and monitor contractor performance against metrics.
• Prepare data summaries, dashboards, and reports to support management decisions.
