Job summary

First Day Homecare® is seeking an RN to perform skilled nursing functions under physician orders, adhering to professional standards and state regulations. You will work within the client care plan, document changes, and ensure safety across shifts in Battle Creek, MI.

Responsibilities include medication administration, patient teaching, and collaborating with the care team to coordinate services; a valid RN license and CPR certification are required, with weekend and overnight shifts available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours:

• Battle Creek, MI: 12-hour weekend day shifts and overnights.
• Battle Creek, MI: 8-12-hour overnight shifts during the week.

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.
