Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join a dedicated team in Arizona. The role focuses on efficient billing and collections operations within homecare, maintaining accounts receivable management in a fast-paced, in-office environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years' experience in homecare billing and collections, proficiency with billing systems, and strong attention to detail. AZ AHCCCS knowledge is a plus; EVV experience is a bonus.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in homecare billing and collections management.
• Experience with AZ AHCCCS Long Term Care billing preferred but not required.
• Experience using billing information systems.
• Knowledge of corporate business management and governmental regulations.
• Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and demonstrate good communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.
• Demonstrated capability to accurately manage detailed information.
• Computer/Software skills and proficiency in Excel & Word.
• Experience with EVV Aggregation System is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reimbursement through efficient billing and collections operations and effective accounts receivable management.
• Review billable claims information in required systems and collaborate with pre-billing team for investigations.
• Submit billing, collections, and accounts receivable functions accurately and on time.
• Comply with payer contracts and ensure billing aligns with contract provisions.
• Stay up to date on payer changes and communicate updates to Controller and Director of Business Operations HCS & Finance.
• Represent agency in resolving payer conflicts.
• Collaborate with Controller and Director of Business Operations HCS & Finance on payer requests and responses.
• Monitor aged receivables and prepare debt reports.
• Resubmit unpaid, denied, corrected, and late claims to payers.
• Gather, monitor, and report key billing information to leadership.
