Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills in basic software and data collection systems.
  • Excellent crisis management skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Evidence of Mantoux test, physical exam, and MMR vaccine.
  • CORI/DCF review prior to employment including fingerprinting.
  • Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue ongoing professional development and training.

Home Visitor – Temporary up to 6 Months
Pay Range

$24.25 - $27.00

Position Summary
  1. Maintain compliance with all federal, state and local regulations related to Head Start/Early Head Start.
  2. Support and serve as a resource to the families and work with them in assessing their strengths, interests and needs, following the program case management systems and timelines, considering family structure and ethnic/cultural diversity in the home; make referrals as appropriate.
  3. Design, plan and implement curriculum in conjunction with families that meets both group and individual child needs which encourages the cognitive, physical, emotional and social development of the child and family and assures that school readiness goals are being met.
  4. Collaborate with parents around goals and needs related to income, employment, housing, safety, education, parenting skills and child development with the goal of enhancing parenting skills, parental coping, mental health and more general life management skills.
  5. Encourage and support parental participation in home and socialization activities as well as other community-based resources.
  6. Encourage parents to become engaged in the program, involved in the decision-making process through participation on the Policy Council, Socialization Parent Committee Meetings and training opportunities.
  7. Maintain accurate, integrated and current case records through the management information system.
  8. Work as a liaison between referred families and the Department of Children & Families to protect the rights of children, families and staff from abuse and neglect.
  9. Serve as an active participant in the program’s recruitment efforts and work in partnership with community agencies regarding services.
  10. Seek professional skill development and growth for themselves and others through participation in related skills training, and educational activities.
  11. Uphold the values of CTI – Equity, Integrity, Compassion.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Early Education and Care (EEC) Infant/Toddler or preschool Teacher Certification preferred
  2. 6 months to 1 year teaching or home visiting experience preferred. 1 year of experience working with low income individuals or families preferred.
  3. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish, English/Khmer English/Portuguese)
