Job summary

RentQuest is seeking a Home Staging Assistant in New York City to join our growing staging and design team.

This part-time, hands-on role focuses on preparing, installing, maintaining, and breaking down residential staging projects across NYC, working closely with the design team and clients to ensure polished spaces.

Ideal candidates are organized, reliable, physically capable, and comfortable in a fast-paced setting, with a positive attitude and willingness to travel within the tri-state area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in home staging, interior design, moving, hospitality, or related field is a plus, but not required.
• Strong interest in interiors, furniture, and design.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to take initiative.
• Comfortable working in a physically active environment.
• Able to travel throughout the tri-state area.
• Comfortable working in residential buildings, apartments, and homes throughout NYC.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must have a positive, can-do attitude.
• Ability to follow direction while also being proactive when something needs to be done.

Responsibilities

• Assist with furniture deliveries, installations, and staging projects
• Organize furniture and accessories
• Assist the design team with placing furniture, artwork, rugs, décor, and accessories
• Prepare furniture and accessories for upcoming projects
• Help maintain organization and cleanliness of the inventory through our inventory manager
• Organize and label inventory by item, size, color, and category
• Inspect furniture and décor for damage or wear and report issues to management
• Assist with packing, wrapping, and properly storing furniture and accessories
• Help maintain staging inventory and ensure items are returned to their proper locations
• Assist with staging breakdowns and furniture returns
• Follow project instructions and staging plans carefully
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while working in client homes and properties
• Communicate effectively with the staging and design team
• Take photos of completed installations and inventory when requested
• Perform other staging, warehouse, and administrative tasks as needed
