Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care or registry eligible.
• Active Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and maintains respiratory therapy equipment and administers prescribed therapies.
• Assesses patient condition and response to therapy; monitors vital signs and readings.
• Performs ABG sampling and analyzes results; reports abnormalities to the care team.
• Maintains ventilated patients and assists in weaning; responds to emergencies and code events.
• Educates patients and families on therapy procedures and safety.
• Keeps documentation and follows infection control policies.
