Job summary

Memorial Health in Illinois is seeking a part-time Respiratory Therapist to initiate, maintain, and discontinue home respiratory therapy equipment and procedures for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. You will educate patients and caregivers and participate in after-hours on-call rotation.

The successful candidate will be AMA-approved School of Respiratory Care graduate, hold an active Illinois RT license, NBRC certification or eligibility, and current CPR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Active Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license or registry eligible.
• Current CPR certification and ability to follow infection control policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and tests RT equipment for safe operation and reports malfunctions.
• Follows safety and infection control procedures to contain infections.
• Interprets physician orders and assessment data for RT care decisions.
• Documents procedures and patient responses in the medical record.
• Administers prescribed respiratory therapies and monitors patient status.
• Performs CPR and responds to Code events as needed.
• Participates in on-call rotation and continuous staff education.
