Job summary

Lincare Holdings is seeking a Respiratory Therapist / Nurse to join our growing team in the United States. You will set up home medical equipment such as CPAP/BiPAP units, ventilators, and oxygen concentrators, and educate patients on proper usage.

You will inspect equipment for safety, review prescriptions, and maintain patient records while staying current on pulmonary care concepts. On-call shifts after hours and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Current CRT/RRT certification as required by state law.
• Must hold valid state/national license governing clinical practice.
• Must have reliable vehicle for patient visits; mileage reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and educate patients on home medical equipment (CPAP/BiPAP, ventilators, nebulizers, oxygen).
• Inspect and test equipment for safe operation and accuracy.
• Review prescriptions and patient data to determine proper treatment per physician orders.
• Maintain complete, accurate patient records compliant with accreditation standards.
• Stay up-to-date on pulmonary care techniques and rehab concepts.
• Work after hours and weekends as needed; on-call rotation depends on center size.

Job description

Lincare is currently seeking aRespiratory Therapist / Nurseto join a growing team. This employee is responsible for the setup of home medical equipment, including ventilators, monitors, CPAP/BiPAP units, and/or other related equipment. The employee will also educate and train patients on the proper usage of prescribed equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and provide education on home medical equipment that includes, but is not limited to CPAP/BiPAP machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and/or mechanical ventilators


• Inspect, test, and adjust home medical equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently


• Review prescription and patient information to assess condition and determine suitable treatment administration, compatible with physician orders


• Maintain patient records in a complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards


• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts


• Work on-call after hours and weekends as needed

Qualifications

• In all states CRTs and RRTs are qualified for this position
  
  
  
  • Subject to state law/regulation, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs, and other clinicians may also be qualified for this position
  
  
  
  


• Must remain certified, registered, or licensed by the applicable state and/or national board governing clinical practice or as otherwise permitted by law


• Must have reliable personal vehicle to visit patients throughout assigned territory

• Must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance in state of residence, per company policy


• In-depth knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Physical Demands

• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
