Pay Range: $26.00 to $28.85 per hour ($54,080 to $60,008 annualized) plus full benefit package

Schedule: Monday – Thursday; 8AM – 5PM; Friday; 8AM – 12PM with flexibility to work some Saturdays and evenings as required

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Community Development Home Repair Coordinator leads the hands-on completion of critical home repair, accessibility, and minor rehabilitation projects. This role serves as the on-site technical point of contact during active project work, including scope walkthroughs, quality inspection, and day-of coordination with subcontractors and vendors. The Home Repair Coordinator works in close coordination with the CD Operations Associate on day-to-day project and crew scheduling, and reports to the Director of Community Development on project strategy, budget, and quality outcomes.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

PROGRAM DELIVERY

• Commit to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity's mission of building homes, community, and hope.
• Work 40 hours each week, including some evenings and weekends as project demand requires, and drive a company vehicle to and from job sites as needed.
• Respond promptly and professionally to homeowners, subcontractors, and internal staff regarding active repair projects.
• Work with the Community Development Operations Associate, the Director of Community Development, and the Construction Department to ensure repair projects are completed effectively and on schedule.

PROJECT ASSESSMENT & PLANNING

• Conduct home assessments for critical home repair and accessibility projects, including documenting repair needs and determining project feasibility.
• Provide on-site technical input into scope of work and cost estimates for Community Development repair projects, in coordination with the CD Operations Associate.

HANDS-ON REPAIR WORK

• Coordinate and complete minor to moderate residential repair projects, including:
• Drywall installation and repair
• Interior and exterior painting
• Flooring repair and installation
• Minor plumbing and carpentry repairs
• Deck and ramp repair or replacement
• Door and frame replacement
• Siding and fence repairs
• Minor demolition
• Installation of grab bars, handrails, smoke detectors, fans, and other accessibility modifications

ON-SITE SUBCONTRACTOR OVERSIGHT

• Flag the need for subcontracted or permitted work that falls outside the scope of direct hands-on completion, and coordinate with the CD Operations Associate on engaging and scheduling that work.
• Serve as the on-site technical point of contact for subcontractors and vendors during active project work, including scope walkthroughs, technical clarifications, and day-of coordination.
• Inspect completed subcontractor and vendor work to confirm quality standards, code compliance, and adherence to scope.
• Coordinate day-to-day project and crew scheduling with the CD Operations Associate to keep the repair pipeline on track.

VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP

• Lead and work alongside volunteers in completing repair projects, while promoting a safe, positive, and mission-driven work environment.

COLLABORATION & REPRESENTATION

• Collaborate with the Construction Department and other internal teams to support organizational priorities.
• Represent Pensacola Habitat for Humanity professionally within the community and during project activities.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Residential construction/broad repair knowledge along with the ability to evaluate home repair needs/costs
• Demonstrated ability to serve as the on-site technical contact for subcontractors and vendors, holding completed work accountable to scope, schedule, and quality
• Ability to lead groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers
• Well organized and detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective leadership and team building skills
• Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Organizing, planning, and budgeting skills
• Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Office 365 and BuilderTrend a plus
• Valid Florida Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, safe driving record

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

• Highschool diploma or GED required
• 5 to 10 years of experience with home construction and home repair projects
• Experience identifying, hiring, or managing subcontractors or vendors preferred
• Experience operating power tools
• Strong organization, planning, project management and implementation skills
• Skilled carpenter, setting doors, windows, building decks and ramps
• Ability to work respectfully, courteously and with a positive attitude when dealing with volunteers, staff, home buyers, homeowners, and community partners
• Basic roofing knowledge, a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires the physical ability to sit, walk, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. The ability to see, speak, hear, bend, twist, climb, reach, grasp, and/or hold to complete warehouse and construction site work is also required.

This position requires the ability to earn certification and drive a forklift vehicle (if requested)

This position requires a valid state driver’s license, safe driving record, reliable transportation, and insurability through our vehicle insurance carrier.

While the Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s work environments are smoke-free and temperature controlled, some work may be in non-temperature-controlled conditions, often outdoors. This position requires people who can safely lift at least 50lbs on a regular and frequent basis, work on ladders, and work in varying weather conditions – sites are often not air-conditioned.
