Kohl’s offers a 10-week Design Intern (Home) program in Menomonee Falls, WI, focused on supporting product creation for private and exclusive labels. You’ll learn brand aesthetics and develop foundational textile and hard home design skills, with exposure to multiple areas within a category or brand.

The internship blends in-office and hybrid arrangements, housing and transportation are provided, and interns work with a dedicated coach to contribute real projects and gain hands-on experience

• Assist in research and trends for category and brand.
• Assist in PLM tasks including vendor communication and style uploads.

• Present research and designs through color, mood boards, and Illustrator sketches or Photoshop CADs.
• Conduct quality and color reviews for product samples and communicate to vendors.
• Collaborate with Merchant, Production, Art and Trend teams to align with brand vision.

About the Role

As a Design Intern (Home), you will support all aspects of product creation for Kohl’s private and exclusive label brands. You will gain a strong understanding of each brand’s aesthetic and customer while developing the foundational design skills necessary in the textile and hard home industries. You will be placed within a specific category or brand but have the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple areas.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in research and trends specific to category and brand
• Assist in PLM tasks, including vendor communication, submitting comments and style uploads
• Create presentations using Miro to articulate design concepts
• Present research and designs through color, mood boards, collages, and Adobe Illustrator sketches or Photoshop CADs
• Conduct quality and color reviews for product samples and communicatefeedback or approvals to vendor partners
• Collaborate with Merchant, Production, Art and Trend teams to brainstorm and execute styles aligning with brand vision and strategy
• Additional tasks may be assigned

About the Internship

Dates: The internship is 10 weeks, beginning on Monday, June 7th and ending on Friday, August 13th, 2027.

Location: This role is based out of our Corporate Office in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

Housing: Housing and transportation options will be provided for interns based out of the Corporate Office.

Working Arrangements: As a Kohl’s intern, you’ll work in a hybrid-model, working in the office Monday-Thursday. Fridays are a flexible working arrangement date, where associates are able to work from home. However, for our interns, there are occasionally in person events on Fridays.
