Job summary

AdaptHealth LLC seeks a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment in patients’ homes and clinical settings. You will educate patients and caregivers, perform assessments, and ensure safety and independence while maintaining HIPAA compliance and quality standards.

The role emphasizes field-based service with daily home visits, equipment maintenance, documentation, and collaboration with referral sources.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service, field-based delivery or healthcare experience preferred.
• One year of healthcare technician, military service, delivery/field service with customer service interaction or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires two years of relevant experience, including one year in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of HME products and regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and reassessments to support ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including under emergency conditions when required.
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control standards.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment per policies and safety standards.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and simple repairs; report hazards or incidents as required.
• Process orders and complete documentation accurately and timely to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
• Promote company services and products to referral sources, as appropriate.
• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with all company policies and compliance program requirements.
• Complete required compliance training and participate in on call rotation as scheduled.
• Perform other related duties as assigned
