Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to safely deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment in patients' homes, clinics, or long-term care settings. You will educate patients and caregivers, ensure comfort, safety and independence, and coordinate care with clinicians.

This role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel daily. Experience in healthcare or field service is preferred, with on-call rotation and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Healthcare technician or related field experience preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
• Senior level requires two years of relevant experience, including one year in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations
• Perform patient assessments and re-assessments to support appropriate ongoing care
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including under emergency conditions when required
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control standards
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment per policies and safety standards
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and simple repairs; report hazards or incidents
• Process orders and complete documentation accurately and timely to support patient care and reimbursement
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services
• Promote company services and products to referral sources as appropriate
• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with all policies
• Complete required compliance training and participate in on call rotation
• Perform other related duties as assigned
