Job summary

Avera Home Medical Equipment – Mitchell is seeking a Home Medical Equipment Technician II to deliver, set up, and maintain devices such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, and oxygen concentrators at patients’ homes or facilities. You will educate patients and caregivers on safe operation and perform routine documentation.

This role requires physical lifting, independent work, and on-call shifts after hours and on weekends.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent or combination of education and experience.
• Drivers license – Licensing Board.
• Experience with Medical Equipment 1-3 years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of current HME products and regulations.
• Transport equipment safely using company vehicles, manage delivery routes, and coordinate pickups of used equipment items.
• Assemble medical devices on-site and demonstrate safe operation to patients and families.
• Complete all required documentation for equipment setups, deliveries, and pickups in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Process registrations, sales orders, transfers, cash sales, deposits, returns, notes, tasks, autopay, and work-in-progress updates.
• Understand reimbursement guidelines and document information needed to support proper reimbursement.
• Conduct home visits to perform equipment quality checks and reinforce safe use.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs per manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
• Clean and decontaminate equipment per manufacturer instructions and infection control protocols.
• Available for on-call after hours and weekends.

Education
