Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment in patients' homes and clinics, ensuring safety and independence.

You will educate patients and caregivers, perform assessments, and maintain equipment while adhering to HIPAA and company policies. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required; healthcare or field-service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
• 1 year of healthcare technician or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires 2 years of relevant experience, including 1 year in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and re-assessments to support ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on the safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and report equipment hazards or incidents as required.
• Process orders and complete documentation to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
