Position Summary

A growing national company is seeking individuals to join a team of professional home inspectors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, articulate, outgoing, personable, and follows our standard process to complete an accurate, thorough quality home inspection and detailed report.

Role and Responsibilities

• Work in various weather conditions, climb ladders, walk on roofs, access crawl spaces and attics, and stand for long periods of time.
• Maintain basic knowledge of residential home systems and elements.
• Use computer technology skills for report writing and communications.
• Stay current on latest company initiatives, policies, and procedures; develop advanced technical knowledge in building science.
• Show punctuality, work independently, and maintain a strong work ethic.
• Travel to home inspection sites.
• Inspect residential properties for defects, wood-destroying insect activity, and other required tests.
• Educate consumers on home operation and potential concerns or repairs.
• Communicate findings professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Produce an accurate and complete home inspection report according to state standards within 12-24 hours of inspection.
• Keep daily logs, write reports, and take photographs.
• Use company software to produce home inspection reports.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 2+ years of construction, real estate, or home repair experience.
• Basic understanding of building codes, laws, and/or government regulations (plus).
• NC or SC Home Inspector license preferred but not required for hire.
• Must complete company training to become state licensed.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
• Physically fit to climb ladders, walk on roofs, access crawl spaces and attics, and stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Capable of entering homes that contain allergens such as pets, dust, mold, or other.
