Job summary

Amerita, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Compounding to join our Pharmacy team in the Charlottesville, VA area.

You will report to the Pharmacy Manager and support sterile and non-sterile compounding, with focus on aseptic technique and regulatory compliance. The role requires completion of an accredited technician program, state license, and preferably IV certification, with 1–3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Pharmacy Technician training; IV certification preferred.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician license per state regulations.
• National Certification as required by the state board of pharmacy.
• 1–3 years of related pharmacy experience preferred.
• Experience with aseptic preparation of infusion-related pharmaceuticals preferred.
• Flexible schedule with on-call evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sterile preparation and home medical equipment orders with pharmacist.
• Complete calculations on product preparation as necessary.
• Compound sterile and non-sterile mixtures using aseptic technique where allowed by state law.
• Maintain clean room and related equipment per policies and USP 797/800.
• Document activities on logs and participate in meetings and quality initiatives.
• Adhere to accreditation, OSHA, FDA, state and federal regulations and USP standards.
• Document temperature logs and sterility testing as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
