Job summary

Responsibilities

• Performs initial exams, evaluates data to identify impairments and plans intervention.
• Confers with patient, family, caregivers and multidisciplinary team to implement therapy.
• Records prognosis, treatment, response and progress in patient chart.
• Administers tests to evaluate speech, voice, swallowing, dysfluency, cognition and language.
• Instructs patients and caregivers in techniques to improve communication and swallow safety.
• Discharges patients when goals are achieved and coordinates follow-up care.
