Job summary

Optum's Harris Home Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and education in home health settings under supervision, ensuring care plans are followed.

The role entails guiding active and passive exercises, teaching patients and families, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team. Weekend rotation is required; CPR certification is preferred or available within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation
• CPR certification preferred or within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care, and adhere to plan of care defined by supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, functional activities, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses and changes to the supervising PT and care team; coordinate care with other health team members.
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and other health team members in therapy within PTA scope.
• Function effectively in diverse home settings regardless of patient demographics
