Job summary

Harris Home Health, part of the LHC Group and affiliated with Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver therapy in patients' homes under the supervision of a PT. The role emphasizes exercise instruction, patient education, and collaborative care to improve well-being.

You will follow a state-specific scope of practice, participate in a weekend rotation, and coordinate with nurses and physicians to optimize treatment plans. Sign-on bonus may apply for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in physical therapy.
• Drivers license and vehicle insurance or access to transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification preferred or to be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform lifting, transferring, and mobility tasks.

Responsibilities

• Follow the treatment plan defined by the supervising PT and perform only procedures you are qualified to perform.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait training, ADLs, and safety.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses and changes to the supervising PT and care team.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver, and other health‑care team members on therapy within scope.
• Provide therapy in home settings, adapting to age, race, creed, color, sex, or disability as needed.
