Job summary

Kona Medical Consulting is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with home health experience to join our Home Health team across Texas. The PTA will work under a licensed Physical Therapist to support patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions with mobility improvement and pain reduction.

Responsibilities include guiding patients through exercises, using therapy equipment, documenting progress, and educating patients and families on at-home exercises

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant Program (accredited).
• Must have prior home health experience.
• Licensure or certification as required by the state of employment.
• Familiarity with therapy equipment and techniques.
• Strong communication, empathy, and patience in dealing with patients of various conditions and ages.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out PT plans under supervision.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and mobility techniques.
• Use therapy equipment to aid recovery.
• Monitor and document patient progress.
• Communicate with patients about goals and comfort.
• Educate patients and families on at-home exercises.
• Prepare therapy rooms and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment.
• Report changes in patient condition to the supervising PT.
• Record accurate notes on treatment and progress.
• Adhere to HIPAA and safety regulations.
