Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in PTA program (accredited)
• Prior home health experience required
• Licensure or certification as required by state
• Familiarity with therapy equipment and techniques
• Strong communication, empathy and patience when working with patients of varying conditions and ages

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches and mobility techniques
• Use specialized equipment to aid in patient recovery and rehabilitation
• Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions
• Communicate with patients to ensure comfort and understanding of therapy goals
• Educate patients and families about at-home exercises and techniques for continued recovery
• Prepare therapy rooms and equipment for patient use
• Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment
• Report significant changes in a patient's condition to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Record accurate notes on treatment provided and patient progress
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy standards and safety protocols
